Every year I sows seeds of balloon ivy,
looking forward to seeing little cute green balloons.
Seeds are so unique!
It has a hart-shaped face.
Since I'm Japanese, it looks Ninja's face wearing black costume.
The vine grows up in June and July
Very lttle while flower bloomes.
A little balloon expands little by little.
How cute they are!
Ivies managed to stands with poles.
The balloons become brown in about two weeks.
Inside the balloon, three seeds are grown.
So many seeds were gathered.
I sowed seeds of "swallow morning glories" in a while container in May.
If they remains as they are, the vine climbs up.
However, I have pinched the top, when they are 10 cm tall in June..
Cuttong the top makes them to put out shoots from the side.
Then, this mornig glories can not climb up, they grow down.
I took this picture from my veranda, extending my arm straight with a cmera.
You can see the swallow morning glories overhanging the wall.
My town had an annual summer festival last Saturday and Sunday.
Many kinds of events are held in many places.
This woman who is trying to write with a big brush on a white paper is a Japanese calligrapher.
The length of this white paper is 200 meters!
What is she writing?
「春」 means "Spring".
It looks a love song.
What she wrote is a lylic.
"Love is fragile like change of four seasons."
A little bit away form my living city, there ia a big pond for irrigation.
In this pond, a lot of lotus begins to bloom.
About one third flowers are blooming. Two thirds swells buds.
In two or three days, they wil be in full bloom!
These lotus is called "Oga Hasu" in Japanese.
This flower's seeds were found accidentally at an ancient site in Chiba prefecture in 1949.
Then a botanist Dr. Oga suceeded to sprout this seed in 1951.
When this lotus bloomed, many people were amazed at big beutifle pink petals.
If you have ever seen the same kind of lotus,
please remenber that this lotus died out 2000 years ago.
The sheer pink petals looks beautifle, arn't they?
Inside the petals, a unique shaped exciple is hidden.
↓ This picutre shows after fall of petals.
It looks like a shower head.
According to the manager of this pond,
to increase "Oga Hasu" in this pond, a group grows them in another small pond,
then they transplants the nurseries to this big pond
